Revision work 1

Good morning,

Today you will be revising the revision that we have done in the past two weeks. This is important as we only memorise information by going over it more than once.

By the end of this lesson you should be able to:

  1. identify atoms, elements and compounds
  2. draw atoms correctly showing their inner workings
  3. use terms alkali, acid and pH with confidence
  4. answer questions on acid/metal reactions
To do this you will need to find a partner, a pen and two worksheet packs each. You will need your book to help you.

Complete the worksheets. Everytime you complete one double side you should bring it to me for marking/checking. If you have any mistakes you should correct these before you move on.

1 completed and corrected worksheet pack = 1 achievement point

Enjoy,
Ms Elias

Cover Work - 06/01/2014

Good morning Y10.

I'm sorry I'm not in today - my chest infection is back with a vengeance.

I would like you to start work on revision for your exam next month. We have about 10 lessons to go through the Chemistry we've learnt and learn some new things, plus you'll be doing revision with Miss Chandarana too.

Today you're going to be revising atoms, elements and bonding.

Work through the web link below, completing the tasks and reading the revision material.

1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/aqa/fundamentals/

carry out the revision by making notes on paper, do the activities and then take the tests

2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/add_aqa/bonding/

just the parts on ionic and covalent bonding...

3. Complete the worksheets that the cover teacher has. You should hand these in at the end, with your NAME ON, and someone will need to volunteer to take them to the technicians in W11.

Have fun.
Be respectful.
See you soon.
